Philip & Rebekah Measor

Philip Measor

Philip Measor was born in Canada before immigrating to the USA in the 80s and naturalized in 2016. He grew up mostly in California including San Diego and the Bay Area, but frequently moved (including Germany, Maryland, and Arizona). In the tumult, he hungered for genuine meaning and relationships but did not find many in the secular world. Like many men, he thought a relationship with a girl would fill this void. During this time in high school, he met a girl that was different than many. Through this relationship, he met the God that she followed and learned that this was the void that needed filling. That girl, Rebekah, became his only girlfriend and later his wife.
They married after Philip graduated from UC Santa Cruz with his bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering. Philip continued on in a doctoral program and became an expert in microscale fabrication and devices for biotechnology applications when he graduated with a PhD in electrical engineering. He held several positions, including entrepreneur, engineer and scientist, before ending up as a professor in Engineering & Physics at Whitworth University where he now trains the next generation of engineers and physicists. He does micro-3D printing research for applications like infectious disease detection, telecommunications and biotechnology.
Philip has served in many roles in the church, including setup, youth group, audio/visual, church board, Deacon, and now Transitional Leadership Team member. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids (Tobias, Mathias, and Nathalie) including cooking, biking, games, and coffee. Rebekah Measor was born in Livermore, California where she grew up in the church. She came to understand what a true relationship with God meant in the sixth grade. She learned the importance of service to the church by her parents’ examples and helping alongside them. Since then, she aims to make meaningful relationships that point to Christ. She has served in many church ministries from children’s church, youth group, prayer, worship, and Church leadership. In the secular world, she has had previous roles in Peet’s Coffee as manager and coffee taste trainer in the Bay Area. Rebekah has homeschooled in the past and directed a Classical Conversations campus. She enjoys time with her husband and kids playing games, drinking coffee and hiking.
